 An Excellent Machine For The Money |

I almost bought the more expensive Hoover F7425-900 with the power brush; but after reading the reviews on it I'm glad I bought the bissell 2070. Please don't waste your money on the Hoover (the gasket breaks and the tank leaks)or the Dirt Devil CE7000(the motor burns out after a few uses) carpet cleaners; as they have many negitive reviews; and for the amount of money this Bissell 2070 cost, you'll be hard pressed to find a better buy.
The bissell 2070 comes packed in 5 pieces with absolutly no skill required to assemble; requires 5 screws, which are supplied for its assembly, which took all of 10 minutes to do. Instruction are easy to follow.
Although it is not stated, this also extracts the dirty water in the tank on top of the motor a feature I really wanted. The cleaning solution tank is easy to remove and the screw cap doubles as a measuring cup so there is no guess work in how much on solution to use. Just pour it into the cap, dump it into the tank fill with hot tap water up to the fill line, screw in the cap and slide in on the back on the machine. I have never seen an easier carper cleaner to use. Simply turn on the switch, press the trigger on the handel, the solution in sprayed out and release the trigger and it is suctioned back up in the dirty water resevoir which as mentioned earlier, sits on top of the motor and you can see the extraction process in action. Its just as easy to use and as effortless as a vacuume cleaner; and quiet!!!! its quieter than my Rainbow canister vacuum. After living in my duplex for only 2 months; I was astounded as to how dirty my carpet was; the water was black!!! Although smaller then the Hoover, ( the cleaning housing is only 9" in width) its lightweight, about 10 lbs, and easy to manuver and store which makes it attractive to you all who live in an apartment. If you have a large area to clean it will take more time to refill the machine and cover a larger area.
As for me, I'm glad I bought this model; and I'm purchasing another for my brother and his wife. I'm sure you will not be disappointed with the Bissell as those who were who bought the more expensive Hoover; or cheaper Dirt Devil models;and if you think about is this way, when you have used it twice, it has payed for its self and is much easier to use than the bulky machines that are for rent in a grocery store.
Be sure you have a powerful vacuum cleaner as the Bissell also picked up the dog hair my Rainbow (it may need a new brushbar)left behind. The accumulated pet hair can easily be removed from the brush area with a long screwdriver. Also, I recommend you rinse off the brush area with your kitchen sink sprayer as dried dirt can accumulate above them and block the suction during extraction.

| I need to first say that I hate shampooing carpets, so much so that I bought a new house with a new rug to avoid doing it. Well that was four years and two babies ago, and I had not cleaned the carpets ever, until now. I dreaded renting a heavy steam cleaner. I had never used a carpet cleaner other then a rented steam cleaner, so I had no idea it would be so fun and easy to use! I read all the Amazon.com reviews and decided on this one since it is cute, small and blue. I used it for the first time today and I was amazed! It was so easy to do, the two small containers are so light and simple to fill and simple to snap back into place. And the thing works! My carpet has four years of baby throw-up, chocolate milk spills and general filth on it. I was not expecting much, but after three simple refills and 30 minutes of time, my 15 x 15 bedroom carpets shines like new again! It's amazing!! Maybe it does not clean quite as good as a rented steam machine, but it is darn close and a million times easier to do. It is small, cute and quiet. I was expecting it to be loud, like some of the other reviews said about Bissell's, but it is quieter then my vacuum cleaner! My sensitive baby slept through the entire cleaning. And it gets into tight spaces that my vacuum can not reach, plus it does a very good job against the walls and around furniture without leaving any residue or water on the furniture. I was a bit worried it would leave soap or water on the dresser's and TV, but it did not and I used the Bissell right up against the walls and furniture. I highly recommend it and it's fun too! I really was not expecting that! |

| I needed a carpet cleaner that was inexpensive, effective and easy to use. This was it. Marvelous. The rotating power brush makes it more effective than the other models in the same price range. The bristles really beat the dirt out of the carpet. No, I wouldn't use it to clean large rooms, as it would take all day, but for small areas it is excellent. Unlike the Bissel Proheat, which I also own, this model is lightweight, simple to fill, simple to use and simple to empty. It should be called the "Carpet Cleaner for Dummies". Any one who has pets or kids will appreciate this little gem. |

| Great product! You think that nothing can work a wonder on white carpet that has split apple juice from a "spill-proof" toddler cup, or a new puppy releiving hisself on the carpet when "puppy training pads" are suppose to work - or a toddler just so happens to smoooooossshhhh a strawberry poptart into the carpet about 5 months ago. Well this little 12 pounder can work the wonder! I was so happy with this purchase after debating for about a month. I might have had to go over the stains a few times but I expected that for the stains sitting in there so long. I would heat my water - not to a boil though, on the stove and it would be ready and waiting for the next go round! LOVED IT! RECOMMEND. |

| After doing some research on carpet cleaning machines, I purchased this one to clean the carpet in my house. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well the powerful rotating brush worked. The water tanks were easy to fill and empty and it's also surprisingly lightweight, so carrying it to the second floor was a breeze. I bought my house 2 years ago, and I haven't cleaned the carpet since I have been here. I was amazed at how much dirt was in my carpets. It was pretty disgusting to see what I was walking around in all the time. I should have bought one of these a long time ago. I would recommend this product to anyone who is interested in cleaning their carpets. |

| After researching deep cleaners on the internet, I decided on this little machine b/c of the great reviews and the unbeatable price. I have FIVE dogs and one cat (all indoor animals) and the Quicksteamer PowerBrush is a GODSEND! I actually expected to be disappointed, however, I couldn't have been more surprised. Even stains that were in my carpets when I moved in almost a year ago that I thought were set for life, came out after using the pretreater and going over the spot slowly a couple of times. Muddy little paw prints, hairballs, and puppy puddles no longer send me into a frenzy. Because this machine is smaller than most vacuums, it's very easy to pull out in a snap. Granted, it does take some time to do a large room b/c of the smaller cleaning path and tanks, but for only $89...I'm willing to do a little extra work for the money I saved. I totally disagree with other pet owners on here that have said that it's too much of a hassle b/c of the pet hair that it tends to suck up. I vacuum very well before I deep clean, and after quicksteaming it takes about 15 minutes to clean the tanks and take off the roller brush to clean out all the pet hair that the vacuum missed. Small price to pay!!!! My only gripe would be with the Bissell cleaning solution. They all come with ScotchGuard, which I don't like. After doing my first room with the Bissell cleaner, and rinsing with pure water afterwards, my carpets felt very sticky after they dried. I think that may be b/c of the ScotchGaurd which coats the carpet fibers. I'd recommend using a cleaner without that. I use the pretreater on stains and then just add a quarter cap of Woolite to the tank or another cleaner. The carpets dry very soft and plush without the "ickiness"...even if you don't rinse afterwards. Don't expect it to be a complete breeze...it's not magic...it takes a little work on your part, but as far as cleaning carpets goes....it's pretty easy and fun. Be warned though....once you start it's hard to stop!!!! |

| First of all, I rarely write any reviews cause I guess I'm just too lazy but I was so pleased with the performance of this vacuum that I just had share with others my opinion. Hopefully that will help others with the mind boggling task of picking that perfect vacuum. I first got this vacuum only after much comparing and reading the reviews. I'm glad I got this Bissell 2070! Its true to its word when it say its compact and lightweight! I've a 3 year old and God knows that when you've kids, your carpet gets extra beating with stains and more stains. I'd this huge juice stain that I never took care of right away so it was set in for a few months but to my surprise, this vacuum could actually clean it up! I mean, it wasn't like it was a miracle and the stain was completely gone. But for a stain that was set in for such a long time,and to see it almost gone, that's amazing. Its easy to change the water as well and also, its not as noisy as my big gun Hoover vacuum. This is definitely a great buy and at this price, its definitely highly recommended - take it from someone who doesn't write reviews so if I did write one, you know how good the product must be! |

I bought this because of all the FIVE star reviews I saw here at amazon.com. I totally agree with everyone who gave it such high reviews. It is easy to maneuver because of its size AND, for the same reason, I can clean in some places without moving furniture. I was amazed at how FAST my carpet dried. I put a fan on some parts I shampooed, but the parts I did NOT was dry JUST as fast...in TWO hours!
Plus, I had some high traffic areas of my carpeting that were matted down. Just two swipes from this little 'giant' brought the nap back up so much that you could even see footprints again when stepping on the carpet. It even brought out the 'real' color of my carpeting again....I forgot it was so deep and rich a color. I don't think you could GET better results from a higher priced, bigger machine.
Another BIG plus with this is that it's SO compact (at least half the size of my vacuum) that it's going to be easy to KEEP my carpets clean in between 'major' shampoos. It is even quieter than my vacuum.
I LOVE THIS CLEANER and would recommend it to anyone. The only time I would NOT is if you have a HUGE house with LOTS of carpet. Then it would take longer to do it all. BUT....if you didn't mind that part, it would even do a GREAT job for you too. |

I do not make a purchase of this size lightly. I looked around at a lot of different options and finally settled on this one based on the price (with free shipping!) and great reviews.
I was hoping this machine would help with pet and mud stains - and it has surpassed my expections!
Using JUST HOT WATER (even without a cleaning solution), it freshened our carpets and removed mud stains near our front door that had been there for years! I'm really amazed by it.
I agree with others - vacuum well before you use this or you'll have to clean soggy fur out of it when you're done. Note that the machine does not heat the water - you add already heated water. I was a little worried about that, but it's works just fine.

| I ordered this about a month ago. It is a little miracle.I could not believe the dirt it got out of my carpet!!! The only complaint I have is that the water and solution didn't seem to go very far. I think I filled it up 4 times just to do my living room, but I had not ever cleaned my carpet since it was new 4 yeas ago.. so I don't think I would have to use so much the next time! I totally reccommend this to everyone who is looking for a good machine that is not so expensive, but will get the job done right! Plus, it is lightweight and didn't kill me to carry up the stairs! Great little machine!!!! |

| We purchased this item about two weeks ago. It arrived in two business days and was so easy to put together. I just bought a new house and was just amazed at what two little boys and a messy husband can do with cream/tan colored carpet in two months. The first time I used it I was just amazed, it is so light and easy to manuever, the path isn't very wide but that made it easier to move around the furniture in my house. The trial size bottle did almost all of the carpet in my 1900 sq ft house. I have to admit I wasn't overly impressed with the cleaning power the first time I used it, but I think it was my fault, I tried to do it fairly quickly while chasing after a 3 year old and an 8 month old. You definately have to make the time to spend in one area or else you just have slightly cleaner, wet carpets. The second time I used it was after we brought our dog home. I really took the time to clean the areas that were soiled and was just amazed, I didn't have to pretreat a single area. I have a nice vacuum (Eureka 4870) which I love, but even after vacuuming the area where my dog spends most of his time, the steam cleaner still pulled up lots of dog hair that had worked into the carpet. Spit-up, jelly, pizza, dog pee, soda, juice, this thing is great!! The dirty water is so easy to change and the clean water is easy to load. I bought the Resolve Steam Cleaner liquid and was much happier with that then with the trial liquid that comes with it. For the price, you cannot beat this product!!! |

I just received the powerbrush today and put it together in just about 10 minutes and tried it on my beige carpet in the high traffic area. The water came out opaque dark grey! And, I am a pretty neat and clean person! So, needless to say I am looking forward to using it on the rest of the apartment. Thanks! |

| I just received my Bissell 2070, and used it last night. I have owned several home steam cleaners (larger,more expensive models)and this one is by far the best. With 2 cats & a dog, and light carpets, there is always a stain, or traffic path in need of cleaning. This machine was simple, even took out old cat vomit stain I found under the bed! (Yuk)The carpet was very dry after cleaning, something I can't say about previous models. Even after I had done a thorough vacuuming (with a new, very good vacuum) I was amazed at how much animal & people hair it picked up. I'll never be without this cleaner, even if I have to replace it periodically. I'm glad I read the other reviews, and bought this machine. |

I am a perfect candidate for this product: three indoor pets, small home, wood burning stove, and acreage with clay soil. If I hired a professional cleaner every time we brought in more dirt and dried mud, we'd be in the poor house.
The assembly and instructions are awesome. The body of the machine is sleek , engineered for simplicity in design and function and well labeled so you don't have to review the instructions ever again. It is even more comfortable to use than my vacuum, and less noisy. I wish the instructions would have included how the system works since I've not had a similar product before. I was somewhat confused when buying a cleaning solution because the labels indicated use for deep cleaners or steam cleaners. I didn't know which this product is because it says it is both!!
(I didn't want to use the enclosed solution because of a warning from a review here about the scotchguard leaving a residue.) I was also just curious why the system has suds but doesn't need rinsing. Luckily the company's website answered those questions.
The half gallon tank does make for a lot of trips to the sink, but the water stays hot that way. Also, I'm getting practiced enough now that I can carry both tanks ( dirty and clean) at the same time because they are so easy to put in and take out even with one hand.
The worst part is this: NO matter how many times I go over an area, the water never gets completely clear, though it gets much less dirty. There's only so many hours I'm willing to put into a small area before moving on. If I clean frequently I will probably see a difference. I'm becoming convinced how truly filthy a frequently vacuumed carpet can get and is high maintenance. Next house I'll consider non-carpet flooring.
I'm curious now about the very pricey Rainbow floor cleaners and how their process compares. They claim you can clean till the water is clear frequently and easily after the first major cleaning.
The only really improvement I wish they would make is on the valve for the cleaning solution tank. It is difficult to open when you need to refill. Perhaps the heat inside makes it so hard to twist open. I've had to gently use pliers. Also, I wish it had attachments for cleaning upholstery. But then it probably wouldn't be so sleek, simple and easy to store.
Regardless, this product is of high quality and is a bargain. I can't imagine what I'd be doing now if I didn't have amazon for reviews and good prices when shopping. Why go to Walmart ever again when amazon delivers it to your door? |

| I have a white patterned rug and I couldn't believe the difference after cleaning with this machine. It worked very well, light and easy to use. Just one thing to be aware of - it will only spray the liquid when started with a FULL water tank. If you shut off the machine part way and then begin again or try to start with only a half tank for a small job, the water won't spray beacuse it is a gravity fed mechanism. |

I am going to leave out all of the product features since they are listed above. As for my experience with this machine, I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised by the results. I was apprehensive about buying a personal carpet cleaner since almost every review that I have ever read complained about cheap plastic parts or leaking tanks. When I came across this product in my Gold Box, I figured that I couldn't beat the price and also thought that if there was a problem, Amazon or Bissell would stand behind the machine.
Well, I have to say that so far I am very impressed. First, when the unit arrived there was little assembly required. I read one review that found the assembly difficult, but I have to say that I totally disagree with that and I am not mechanically inclined. Moving on, I found the instructions clear and easy to follow, so I was cleaning the carpet within 45 minutes of the machine arriving at my door. We have a 1000 sq. foot apartment and I would say that it took me about 3 hours to throughly clean the entire place. We also have a young daughter and 2 dogs, so there were some areas that I took longer on if you know what I mean. That being said, there was not one stain that the Bissell did not completely remove! I couldn't believe it. When my wife got home that night, she said it looked like we had the carpet professionally done. That is a great commentary.
A few drawbacks to the device are the small clean/dirty water tanks. Also, the width of the machine is not of great measure. So, basically you end up filling the clean water tank a lot and alternately emptying the dirty water tank just as often. Couple this with the small cleaning brush width and it makes for a more lengthly cleaning experience. I felt that this was acceptable for a few reasons. One, the price. Two, if you have a small to mid-size apartment, you only clean the entire carpet once or twice a year. The rest of the time you are focusing on individual areas/rooms. So a larger machine is not necessary unless you have a large condo or house. Do not buy this machine if you are going to regularly clean a large area; buy a bigger machine for that kind of job. Also, in a mid-size apartment, storage can become an issue, so the smaller size works well there also.
Another heads up is to clean the dirty water tank well after every use. If you are cleaning up urine/food stains, the tank can get pretty ripe while not in use. I recommend bleach every time. Also, remove collected pet hair from the brushes frequently during use. The hair did not reduce the machine's effectiveness, it just looked gross in the brushes which are visible through the clear plastic.
So, in conclusion, this is a great machine for use in an average apartment. It tackled pet/food stains well and showed no signs of leaking. I highly recommend this machine. |

| I never write reviews or leave feedback, but I feel so strongly about this product that I must. This is one of the best purchases for our home I have ever made. You will be amazed and disgusted (in a fascinated kind of way) with the goo you pull out of your carpet. One tip: after use, tip the cleaner head up and clean out the bristles. Again, disgusted fascination will reign supreme. If you have pets, you cannot live without this. |

| With three dogs, two parrots, a baby, and a very messy husband, our carpets need cleaning once a month sometimes. We've rented a carpet cleaner twice since moving into our home 18 months ago, but they were heavy and bulky and didn't do a great job. Not to mention, after renting a cleaner four times, you've already paid enough to own one! This Bissell cleaner is incredible. It is lighter, smaller, less noisy and even easier to use than my vacuum cleaner! I was able to clean about 800 sq. feet within a couple of hours and while holding my daughter in her sling. I was able to complete all of the steps using this carpet cleaner with ONE HAND. This is the easiest carpet cleaner I've ever used. It's so simple to tell how much water you've used, how clean the water you're extracting is, and how much water you're extracting out of the carpet. In my opinion, this cleaner is the best you can buy for the money, and a lifesaver for me! |

| I bought this machine after reading all the rave reviews. I'm loving it. Easy to use, easy to assemble. I was a bit squimish about rental machines that have been used to clean baby puke and pet stains (I have neither) so buying was the way to go. I have a big apartment (by NYC standards) with wall-to-wall and can't imagine needing a larger machine. |
